Sunday saw Liverpool come away as 2-1 victors over a visiting Chelsea side at Anfield. It was a tense and high-emotion game that showed the true grit this season's squad has within them.

It also gave Arne Slot his first signature win at the helm in the Premier League and he will be delighted with the response from the boys after being punched in the mouth on more than one occasion in this one.

Let's see how the Liverpool players rated in the victory.

Caoimhin Kelleher - 7/10 - The Irishman was fine on the day as he made some smart confident maneuvers throughout. Well-beaten for their goal, but otherwise more than solid enough.

Trent Alexander-Arnold - 7/10 - Trent was very good defensively on Sunday as he showed his capabilities at that end of the pitch comfortably taking Jadon Sancho out of the game. Refreshing to see him more impactful defending over attacking on the day.

Ibrahima Konate - 7/10 - Ibou put in another strong performance despite being at fault for keeping Nicholas Jackson onside for the Blues goal. He was strong and confident in every other facet and continues to look like one of the best defenders in the league.

Virgil van Dijk - 7/10 - Big matches call for big-time players to raise their level and van Dijk did just that. He was immense as he organized the defense time and again to shut down any potential Chelsea attacking moves.

Andy Robertson - 6.5/10 - His most important contribution to the match might have come right at the death as he blocked a shot in a dangerous spot in the box to preserve the victory.

Ryan Gravenberch - 7.5/10 - There were a few moments where the midfield felt a bit overrun, but Gravenberch steadily grew into the game and helped clean up at the back and move the ball well.

Dominik Szoboszlai - 6.5/10 - He was fine on the day, but too often he made the incorrect decision in the ifnal third or could not execute. Showed some flashes so a solid, but not great day at the office.

Curtis Jones - 8.5/10 - He was the most influential player on the pitch in Red outside of Salah. Winning the ball back, driving forward and of course his deft touch for the winning goal. Superb performance.

Mohamed Salah - 8.5/10 - It was another hugely impactful game in attack for Salah as he smashed home his penalty and put in a tremendous cross for the second. AT his danerous best in attack.

Diogo Jota - 6/10 - Did not have much of a chance to leave his mark on the match before fallen on after a clumsy challenge from the defender. Tough break for the man in form.

Cody Gakpo 7/10 - An effective but not exactly memorable outing from the Dutchman as he popped up often on the left but could not turn the game on its head.

Darwin Nunez - 7.5/10 - His running and effort were on full display as he eagerly tracked back to help the defense as well. Showed a new element to his game of holding the ball well for others to move into better spots.

Luis Diaz - 5/10 - Did not o much with his time on the pitch after replacing Gakpo, but did not do anything wrong either.

Alexis Mac Allister - N/A

Joe Gomez - N/A
