Liverpool capped a much needed week of positive results with their second consecutive clean sheet, this time in a 2-0 Premier League win over Brighton at Anfield on Saturday.

Mohamed Salah made his return to the side and came on earlier than expected following a disappointing injury to Joe Gomez. The Reds had a lively looking attack and did enough defensively to get the three points in the bank.

Let's see how Liverpool's players rated in the important victory over the Seagulls.

Alisson - 7/10 - Made a strong save early on, getting low to deny Brighton their clearest chance up until that time. Not a whole lot of work to do directly after that, but played his role well as always.

Joe Gomez - 6/10 - He started the match so well and on the front foot and it was his effort that created the first goal opportunity. Unfortunate injury luck once again, but it's the story of his Liverpool career.

Ibrahima Konate - 6.5/10 - Made some decent clearances and he outmuscled the opposition on more than one occasion. However, picked up a reckless yellow card at the halfway line and was caught out a few times.

Virgil van Dijk - 7/10 - Patrolled the defensive third well throughout and made sure he was always where he and others needed to be at all times. Not a commandeering display, but good work from the captain.

Milos Kerkez - 6.5/10 - A much more disciplined performance from the fiery Hungarian as he did his best to deal with the very dangerous Yankuba Minteh on the wing.

Curtis Jones - 7.5/10 - He was popping up all over the pitch, in attack, defense and everywhere in between. Showed real composure on the ball and pushed things forward whenever he could. Truly a fine player.

Ryan Gravenberch - 7/10 - Was solid in the midfield, breaking up passing lanes whenever he could and showed his class on the ball that we have come to appreciate. Got forward a little more than expected in this one. Good showing.

Alexis Mac Allister - 6/10 - The Argentine was fine in this one, but did not leave an indelible mark on the match. Didn't do his best with a few scoring chances but overall, he played his role on the day.

Dominik Szoboszlai - 7.5/10 - Started the match in an advanced midfield role before having to shift to right-back in the first half hour following Gomez's departure. Did not stop him from having an impact on everything and he was rock solid defensively. Just an all-around terrific footballer.

Florian Wirtz - 7.5/10 - The German playmaker was pulling all the strings once again in this one and he continues to look more and more comfortable in Red. Creating chances at will and his deft touches all over the pitch are a joy to watch.

Hugo Ekitike - 8.5/10 - Bagged himself another two goals as his rich vein of form continues. Thunderous volley finish in the first minute was partnered with a clean header at the hour mark. Perhaps could have done more in a few other instances if he got his head up and the ball off, but a brilliant outing for the Frenchman.

Mohamed Salah - 8/10 - Made a triumphant return to the squad and after being thrust on in the 26th minute, and he looked lively throughout. Created several chances for others and a few for himself. Wonderful delivery for the assist on the second goal. Could have scored at the death but skied it.

Andy Robertson - 6/10 - Came on to shore up the left flank as Liverpool looked to close things down in the final portion of the match. Not a lot of opportunities to really standout.

Alexander Isak - 6/10 - Nearly invisible at times after coming on for the scorching hot Ekitike. Not a lot of service his way to be fair, but he looks miles off the Frenchman at this moment in time.

Federico Chiesa - 7/10 - Another substitute appearance and another progressive display from the talented Italian. Drove forward whenever he could and put it on a plate for Salah late. He needs more minutes.
