Liverpool and Brighton are set to do battle just days after their tense League Cup Round of 16 meeting went the way of the Reds in the form of a 3-2 victory.

Arne Slot featured a much changed lineup for that match, largely with this rematch in mind as a lot of key figures did not play or only had limited roles. Liverpool will once again be favorites in this one, but the Seagulls will be no pushover so whoever does play in Red must come locked in from the off.

Let's take a look to how Liverpool could lineup in their Premier League matchup on Saturday afternoon against Brighton.

Goalkeeper: Caoimhin Kelleher

Defenders: Trent Alexander-Arnold, Ibrahima Konate, Virgil van Dijk, Kostas Tsimikas

Midfielders: Alexis Mac Allister, Ryan Gravenberch, Dominik Szoboszlai

Forwards: Mohamed Salah, Darwin Nunez, Luis Diaz

Probable Subs: Cody Gakpo, Curtis Jones, Joe Gomez, Conor Bradley, Wataru Endo

Kelleher gets the nod in goal after we saw Viteszlav Jaros get the start during the midweek Cup showdown. Konate is restored to the XI alongside van Dijk to see if they can continue their strong partnership in the heart of the defense.

As odd as this might sound, Tsimikas was rested midweek with the likely intention of having him start in hte league match on Saturday, whereas Andy Robertson got the nod because he would be on the bench.

It's been a rough go of things for Robbo as of late, so maybe a weekend off will do him some good in clearing his head and getting back on track.

Looking at the midfield, Gravenberch was fully rested and should be ready to roll at the weekend while Mac Allister only had around 30 minutes of action so he should be fresh for kickoff as well.

Szoboszlai got the start in an advanced role during the win on Wednesday, but I think he drops just a bit deeper for this one and he will be in a more playmaking role to try and free up the forwards.

Speaking of the forwards, Salah and Nunez both start after coming on as subs in the 3-2 Cup victory and they should cause all kinds of trouble for the Brighton defense.

As for the left side, Gakpo performed so well scoring two great goals in the win during the week that he should absolutely have a shout to get the start. However, based on previous weeks, Slot seems to favor Diaz in league matches.

Both men warrant a start for sure so it's a win-win. This will be a much stronger Starting XI then what we saw on Wednesday and it should be able to get the job done.
