Liverpool's best attack with Victor Muñoz is crystal clear

Liverpool is on the back of one of the worst title defenses in Premier League history. Arne Slot failed to replicate the success he had the season before, and the Reds have moved swiftly to replace him with Andoni Iraola.

Liverpool spent vast sums of money last summer signing the likes of Alexander Isak and Florian Wirtz.

However, both players failed to live up to expectations. The Reds appear to be making calculated recruitments this transfer window with the addition of Victor Muñoz from Osasuna.

Muñoz scored six goals with two assists in 34 La Liga games last season. This was very good form for a side that just survived relegation on goal difference. Munoz's efforts earned him a place for Spain at the World Cup. However, he did not feature in their opening game against Cabo Verde.

The winger already has two caps for Spain and scored on his debut against Serbia. Before playing for Osasuna, Muñoz was with Real Madrid, despite the player being from Barcelona and being a part of La Masia as a youth player.

What could Liverpool's front three look like next season?

Victor Munoz (LW), Alexander Isak (ST), Yan Diomande (RW)

Muñoz favors playing on the left, but can play on the right. They have also been linked with Yan Diomande of RB Leipzig, who also likes to play on the left. Liverpool seems to have too many left-wingers and not enough who prefer playing on the right at the moment.

Mohamed Salah is leaving, but Federico Chiesa has never really lived up to expectations at Anfield. They also have the youngster Rio Ngumoha, who has huge potential. However, many Reds fans do not rate Cody Gakpo anymore.

Isak needs to start firing as the club paid an astronomical £125 million for him to join from Newcastle United. The Reds' best attack could actually feature Hugo Ekitike instead of Isak.

Ekitike had a good campaign before he suffered his Achilles injury. The Frenchman missed out on going to the World Cup because of this problem and may not return to action until December.

Despite Liverpool having a poor season, they still finished fifth, which qualified them for the Champions League. Iraola has a big job to get them competing with Arsenal and Manchester City again for the title. He worked wonders at AFC Bournemouth. However, it remains to be seen if he can make the step up to Anfield.
