Liverpool make three changes for Fulham as Tsimikas starts

Liverpool have made three changes for this afternoon’s Premier League fixture with Fulham at Anfield, with Andoni Iraola rotating his side following Wednesday night’s 2-1 Champions League victory over Atletico Madrid.

The Reds are back in action just 65 hours after the final whistle of their 2-1 win over the Spanish side, with Kostas Tsimikas, Ryan Gravenberch and Victor Munoz brought into the starting XI.

Tsimikas gets the nod at left-back

Tsimikas replaces Milos Kerkez at left-back, having made a brief appearance against Atletico in midweek.

The Greece international was introduced for the final three minutes of the Champions League victory, making that his most recent competitive appearance before being handed a starting role against Fulham.

His previous Premier League outing came against Nottingham Forest on August 29, when he played 20 minutes. He was an unused substitute against both Newcastle United and Ipswich Town.

Gravenberch returns as Mac Allister drops to the bench

There is also a change in midfield, with Ryan Gravenberch coming into the side in place of Alexis Mac Allister.

Dominik Szoboszlai keeps his place alongside Gravenberch, while Florian Wirtz again operates in the No. 10 role.

At the other end of the pitch, Alexander Isak starts for the fifth consecutive game, with Bradley Barcola retaining his place on the left.

Munoz handed first start

Victor Munoz is the other change, coming into the starting XI on the right flank.

The winger gets his opportunity as Iraola looks to manage his squad during a demanding run of fixtures, with Liverpool having had little recovery time following their European exertions.

Alisson remains in goal behind a defence of Ronald Araujo, Jeremy Jacquet, Virgil van Dijk and Tsimikas.

Cody Gakpo is back among the substitutes after his recent fitness issue, while Milos Kerkez and Mac Allister also drop to the bench.

Rio Ngumoha is another option among the replacements, alongside Federico Chiesa, Endo, Jeremie Frimpong, Trey Nyoni and James Koumas.

Liverpool team to face Fulham

Liverpool: Alisson; Araujo, Jacquet, Van Dijk, Tsimikas; Szoboszlai, Gravenberch; Munoz, Wirtz, Barcola; Isak.

Substitutes: Mamardashvili, Endo, Kerkez, Frimpong, Nyoni, Mac Allister, Gakpo, Ngumoha, Koumas.

The changes come as Liverpool look to maintain their momentum at Anfield after their dramatic Champions League comeback against Atletico Madrid on Wednesday night.
