It's never a dull day at Liverpool this summer, with incoming rumours, outgoing whispers and pre-season getting underway. Here are the stories in the latest wild week at Anfield.

Hugo Ekitike

Liverpool are days away from announcing the signing of Frankfurt striker Hugo Ekitike.

The French forward had a sterling season last year and despite bids from both Newcastle and Manchester United, Liverpool have all but secured his signature.

The talented twenty-three year old will become the fourth major signing of an already busy summer, joining Florian Wirtz, Jeremie Frimpong and Milos Kerkez. The fee is reported to be £69m up front with potential add-ons of £10m.

Luis Diaz

Luis Diaz has plenty of admirers this summer and despite Saudi clubs seemingly dropping their interest, Bayern Munich are fully in for the Liverpool winger.

The Colombian is reportedly very keen on the move with some outlets even claiming he no longer wishes to stay at Anfield.

Liverpool are understandably keen to keep the wide man but have other targets on their radar should Diaz leave. An €80 million offer is reportedly what the Reds are holding out for.

Alexander Isak

A long and winding saga, Alexander Isak remains a key target for Liverpool.

Newcastle had reportedly claimed the striker is not for sale but rumours persist that both Liverpool and Al Nassr are still keen to strike a deal on Tyneside.

Isak was left out of a recent friendly against Celtic and was photographed training alone during the beginning of this week.

The signing of Newcastle target Ekitike did seem to suggest Liverpool had given up on the Swedish forward but several jouranlists still claim a deal may be done.

Liverpool 5-0 Stoke City

Liverpool played a behind closed doors friendly against Stoke City at the weekend, with the Reds hitting the Potters for 5.

The main takeaway from the game was a clinical early hattrick for Darwin Nunez, who took all three chances extremely well. The other goal scorers were Fede Chiesa and youngster Rio Ngumoha.

Florian Wirtz played his first minutes for the club and notched two assists in a stunning debut display. Young midfielder Trey Nyoni also impressed.

FPL is back

The return of Fantasy Premier League is always a marker as to how close the new season is and this year is no exception.

Liverpool star man Mohamed Salah is the most expensive player in the game, coming in at a whopping 14.5m. New man Wirtz looks very tempting at 8.5m and new full backs Kerkez and Frimpong both come in at 6m.

Hugo Ekitike could be amongst the better value strikers in the game once his price is revealed, with our guess being around 7.5m
