The March international break is upon us once more and whilst this one actually looks rather timely for Liverpool with their recent disappointments, it's still a break from Premier League action that nobody enjoys.
With that in mind, here is a look at four of the best performances by Liverpool players who, at the time, were away with their country.
Michael Owen v Argentina - 1998 World Cup Round of 16
At the tender age of just eighteen, fresh faced Michael Owen had already began to light up the 1998 World Cup.
A string of fine group stage performances, including a goal against Romania had earned him a spot in this huge knockout game against Argentina.
A highly controversial and competitive game, England found themselves behind early before the young striker won his country a penalty, on which they levelled the game.

He would go on to score a penalty of his own in the shootout, defying the nerves of such a huge occasion.
Just six minutes later, a goal worthy of any occasion lit up the whole of France. Michael Owen flicked a gorgeous first touch past one defender before skipping round a second and placing an unnerving finish into the top corner.
In a game filled with incidents such as David Beckham's effigy-inducing red card, a baffling disallowed winner from Sol Campbell and yet more England penalty heartbreak, this goal remains a positive memory and is wildly regarded as one of the greatest World Cup goals of all time.
