2. Archie Gray - Leeds United

Gray is another name that has been linked to Liverpool in the past, although compared to Summerville, the links have gone cold. Archie Gray is nowhere near a finished product, but at 18, he is getting shouts to be a future England international.

His family has a long history with Leeds United. His grandfather, Frank, was a defender for the club in the 1970s and 1980s. His great uncle, Eddie, is regarded as one of the best Leeds players ever. His father, Andy, played 35 games for Leeds and had a long career in the EFL. Archie is from a Scottish background but, to date, has only played for England at the youth level.

This past season in the Championship, Gray's role involved a bit of everything in the midfield. He has the capabilities to track back and help out the lower-lying midfielder but also the strong ability to progress the ball up the pitch and create space in the middle of the park. Gray has started most matches under Daniel Farke this season as Leeds placed third in the Championship table.

At Liverpool, Gray would, of course, be a project, picking up minutes here and there, perhaps earning starts in domestic cup competitions. But it could be worth it for the Reds to invest early, especially if Leeds United goes up to the Premier League and Gray's potential is showcased on the biggest stage in football. It's only a matter of time before Gray is coveted by not only most of England's top teams but some of Europe's finest too.
