Takeaway #3: Arne Slot impressed by youngster Trey Nyoni after Curtis Jones injury

It was an unfortunate way for Trey Nyoni to get on the pitch, but the youngster subbed-on for Curtis Jones in the 30th minute after Jones was taken out due to precaution. Slot did however say that Jones probably could've played on.

In 41 minutes played, as he was later subbed out, Nyoni impressed well in the Liverpool midfield against Real Betis. He had many moments where you forgot he was a 17-year-old as he played with plenty of confidence during his cameo.

Nyoni found Dominik Szoboszlai on the break, with the Hungarian passing the ball off to Salah before quickly getting back in the box and sliding the past Adrian's right side.

Speaking after the match, Slot gave a ton of praise to the youngster but warned that physically, he still needs to develop (source).

""You can see his quality but you can also see his body still needs time to grow to play [at] a Premier League level... but he showed some interesting things today." "
