The Women's Super League does not begin until late September, but that does not mean it's ever to early to begin looking at who could be some of the standout performers for Liverpool in the coming campaign.

There could be transfers in or out that are made, but for the purpose of today's exercise, I am picking three players that are currently in Mat Beard's side.

Here are three Liverpool Women's players you should follow closely this coming season.

1. Grace Fisk - LB/CB

We begin our list with the 26-year old versatile English defender. Fisk normally plays as a left-sided centre-back in the 3-5-2 formation that Liverpool normally likes to run.

She has also played pure centrally when Beard has decided he wanted to run a 4-5-1 depending on the opposition that day. Fisk played in all possible 22 WSL matches last year showing her durability and dependability week in and week out.

Fisk was also named Liverpool FC Women Players' Player of the Year in her first season with the Reds.

Her ability to read the game and anticipate things before they happen is what really sets her apart from her peers as she always looks to be one step ahead.

She also has a wide passing range and a comfort when on the ball that a lot of defenders do not have, which allows her to turn defense into offense quickly and she sprang many counters last season.

In her prime, she should be one of our better players once again with another summer to get comfortable.
