It now appears to be all but certain that Liverpool will settle on Arne Slot to be the man to replace Jurgen Klopp.

It was a winding road but the Reds and Feyenoord are deep in negotiations over financial compensation for the League and Cup winning manager to make the move.

In addition to Slot taking the head job with Liverpool, he has some talented players that he could look to bring with him to help instill his philosophy to the new club. In this article, we take a look at 3 of the brightest options for Michael Edwards, Richard Hughes and others to take a good long look at.

Let's get into them now.

Santiago Gimenez (23) - ST - 2023-24 Stats: 24 goals 6 assists

The 23-year old Mexican has been a scoring machine for Slot at Feyenoord this season as he is a whopping 14 goals clear of the second most in his side.

His physical size and strength are both options that would suit the Premier League as there would not be many central defenders that could push him around. Also, he has been 23 for all of a week, so he is still very young with plenty of room to develop.

His age and prolific profile already mark him out as someone that could check a lot of boxes that Liverpool would be looking for.

With the finishing woes in recent weeks all but washing away any hopes of additional silverware, looking at a fresh forward option might not be the worst thing. Gimenez would be a viable option to follow his manager to Anfield.

For comparison, his goals per shot this season is 0.20 while Darwin Nunez is 0.11.

Calvin Stengs (25) - AM - 2023-24 Stats: 6 goals 12 assists

Through 34 matches this season, the Dutchman has an average of 0.66 G/A per 90 minutes showing that when he plays he is trying to move his side forward.

His 12 assists across all competitions leads Feyenoord. He has the ability to play both as a No. 10 and on the wing if necesary. As we know. positional versatility is a very good attribute for a player to have and were Liverpool to pursue him, I would see him projecting as a more mature version of Harvey Elliott.

In that he would be best used as a super sub to change games or a spot starter to keep things fresh in the various competitions we will be competing in.

His 18 goal contributions is twice as much as his 9.3 xG/A on the season indicating he is getting the absolute most out of his game and more.

Lutsharel Geertruida (23) - CB/RB/CDM - 2023-24 Stats: 6 goals 4 assists

As recent weeks have shown, the Liverpool defense is in need of some retooling as well. Geertruida is someone that could offer cover both centrally and out wide.

He is very good at ball retention and ball recovery. He's a big strong player so he is not easily moved off the ball if he is not ready to go anywhere. This has helped him control things from all three access points of the Feyenoord defense.

While he does not throw himself into tackles often he has a good sense of where to be in order to slow down the opposition.

He has very tidy close control and can turn on a dime which helps his confidence when dribbling out of the back. His goal contributions are a reflection of his willingness to come forward, which is something Reds fans will know all about from their fullbacks.

He's strong in the air on both ends as well. He could be a real player if given the right chances and development. Remember his name.
