The Reds are in need of a few key additions this summer and these three players would all be perfect for what Arne Slot needs for 2024 and beyond.

With the summer transfer window officially open and the Euros kicked off, things are beginning to move fast in the football world.

While Liverpool have seemingly been linked with every credible player across the globe, nothing concrete has come from the club as of this writing. However, I am here to highlight three players that the Reds should do everything they can to get a deal across the line.

Ultimately, it will be extremely unlikely that Liverpool signs all three of these players, but I want Michael Edwards to work his magic as best he can until a firm no is established from the other club.

Without further ado, three players Liverpool must try to sign this summer.

Goncalo Inacio - CB - Sporting CP

We are going to start with a familiar name as Liverpool have been linked with the 22-year old defender since last summer.

Yet, to this point, it has only been links with very few official moves taken by either club. When you look at the type of defender that would thrive in Arne Slot's controlled pressing game, Inacio fits the bill.

He's great on the ball, both carrying and distributing, has good size, is strong in the air and his ability to read the game is quite underrated.

He is currently valued at €45 million and his release clause is set at €60 million after he signed an improved contract with Sporting. Manchester United are reportedly sniffing around for his services as well so this is a move Liverpool mustn't wait long on.

His age and overall player profile fits the bill of what Edwards likes in his transfer dealings. A healthy return on investment opportunity.

With Joel Matip gone, there is a need for fresh blood in the center of defense and Inacio could be the perfect ready-made solution.
