3. Paul Konchesky
Let's get into a player whose anonymity is the reason for his inclusion on this list. He came to the club right at the beginning of the window of eligibility for this list, in 2010, for a fee of £4 million.
After transferring from Fulham, Konchesky played just 19 times for Liverpool, but that was all the club needed to see in order to know he wasn't up to par- when Kenny Dalglish returned to the manager's seat midseason, Konchesky was loaned out to then-Championship side Nottingham Forest.
The fullback did have some excitement in his post-Liverpool career as he was part of Leicester's promotion effort and subsequent relegation escape, but he was sold right back down to the Championship before he could experience the Foxes' legendary title run.
After that, he played a final season in League One before retiring, never having lived up to the expectations that pulled him up to England's biggest club back in 2010.
