2. Southampton

Newly-promoted Southampton are expected to be in the market for a new keeper should they not re-sign veteran Alex McCarthy to a new contract. The club lost youngster Gavin Bazunu near the end of the Championship season due to an achilles injury and the Irish keeper is expected to be sidelined until 2025.

Southampton will have to make a decisive on whether or not they want to sign someone who can compete with Bazunu next year or if they will sign a stop-gap until Bazunu gets back. Given the nature of the Premier League survival challenge in front of them, it should be imperative for them to search for a capable starter, such as Kelleher.

The last permanent transfer of a player from Liverpool to Southampton was Danny Ings in 2019 in what was a record deal for Southampton at the time.
