1. Steven Gerrard

Let's be honest, we all knew who was going to top this list. If it's a shame that Fowler never won the League while at Liverpool, it's a crime Stevie never got that feeling.

He finished runner-up on multiple occasions and each time it was cruelly taken away from him. There are few players in the history of this sport that did more and meant more to their club. Totti at Roma. Del Piero at Juventus. Messi at Barcelona. Ronaldo at Real Madrid.

It's not a long list, but Gerrard is there. His all-action style endeared him to fans from day one and the amount of matches where he carried the Reds across the line through sheer power of will is long.

He could do it all on a football pitch. Tackles, hard-nosed or technical? Check. Ball carrying ability and dribbling? Check. Thunderous shot from anywhere on the pitch? Definite check. Picking out a pass? There were few better.

He formed vivacious partnerships with Owen, Torres, Suarez and more. The Premier League is the only thing missing from his glittering club resume.

Perhaps being No. 1 here helps him a bit, no? Get in Stevie, you're league winner in my eyes.

Honorable Mentions: Xabi Alonso, Pepe Reina, Steve McManaman, Jamie Carragher
