4. Alexis Mac Allister - CM
Number 4 on our list is most likely the Reds' signing of the season. He came from Brighton in the summer for a more than reasonable fee and proceeded to make the impact of a player worth twice the £35m it took to sign him.
His season began a little wobbly as Jurgen Klopp decided to deploy him at the base of the midfield in the No. 6 role.
Clearly, this is not his preferred position in the midfield and it does limit what he does best. However, being the pro he is, he embraced the role early on and became an integral part of the squad regardless.
However, his season really took off when he was finally unleashed higher up the midfield and was allowed to pull strings in the attack. He began scoring more, creating more and setting up more dangerous chances.
His versatility in the midfield is a dangerous weapon as he can now impact matches in so many ways. He is the engine that drives the attack forward and his vision is paramount to unlocking inferior defenses.
