There is a lot going on around Liverpool and it is not all pleasant news. The injury bug has bitten the Reds again. Catch up on some of the biggest news below.

Trent Alexander-Arnold to miss a few weeks with knee injury

Jurgen Klopp will be without another star for awhile as Trent has gone down with a knee ligament tear and is expected to miss at least three weeks. He has been in superb form and this is a crushing blow as he is a an elite Swiss army knife on the pitch.

It will give Conor Bradley a chance to show what he can do over an extended period of time. The impact will still be huge of losing TAA.

Dominik Szoboszlai on the mend, but not yet ready for action

The Liverpool No. 8 has been progressing well in his rehab, but he is not fully ready to return to playing. However, he is running again which is always a positive sign indeed. The sooner he can get back the better, as it's all hands on deck right now.

Spanish pair in midfield still unknown when they'll return

Thiago and Stefan Bajčetić have both had miserable times of it with injuries. With the former yet to feature this season while the youngster has only made a few appearances.

If I had to wager a guess, I would think Thiago does not play for the club again. He is probably focused on getting fit for when he becomes a free agent in the summer.

Does Liverpool have a real chance to sign Kylian Mbappe?

While it is still very unlikely that Liverpool secures the French megastar, there is some traction to at least consider the possibility.

Liverpool have the commercial power to bring in lucrative sponsor deals to help offset any costs. In addition, Mbappe is an open admirer of Klopp and the club. Real Madrid still seems his likeliest destination, but the Reds are in with a shout.

Virgil Van Dijk will return for League Cup Semifinal against Fulham

Our Captain missed the Arsenal FA Cup win from a bug that had him looking ragged. Thankfully, he has overcome it and should be fit and raring to go for the Semifinal on Wednesday.

His return will be huge as it coincides with TAA going down. Virgil will man the backline in a yet another huge match for Liverpool. Thank goodness.
