Liverpool could make a late splash in the transfer market.

Liverpool have yet to sign a player this window, although Giorgi Mamardashvili's confirmation is expected soon. He will be Liverpool's first summer signing this window. However, whether or not the club will be done after that remains to be seen. Slot made it clear in a recent media conference that he is happy with his squad.

Things may be about to change, though, as the club is reportedly eyeing a late shock move for Juventus winger Federico Chiesa.

According to Fabrizio Romano, Liverpool have made first contact with Juventus over a potential Premier League move for Federico Chiesa. The Italian winger is reportedly keen to make a switch to England, and Juventus are expected to find a transfer solution for Chiesa before the window closes. Chiesa is no longer part of the project under manager Thiago Motta at Juventus and will almost certainly leave this window.

While Chiesa's stock certainly is not at the heights it once was at the 2020 Euros, the 26-year-old forward still has the chance to be a regular contributor at Liverpool under Arne Slot. Last season, Chiesa recorded ten goal contributions across all competitions. Chiesa is still a regular in the Italy National Team, with 51 appearances, tallying eight goals.

Federico Chiesa's ability to play on both wings will certainly be of interest to Slot, even if it is not necessarily an area the club is struggling to find suitable talent in. With the player frozen out of Juventus' squad and his contract expiring next year, it is unlikely Liverpool would be paying a massive fee for Chiesa.

Barcelona and Inter have been heavily linked to Chiesa in the past couple of weeks since his parent club made him available. With Liverpool interested in examining the conditions of a potential deal, we are likely to hear more in the coming days.
