Liverpool's Luis Diaz and Alexis Mac Allister score in WCQ as Alisson earns clean sheet
Well into the thick of their World Cup qualifiers, several South American Reds have performed well early in the September international window.
On Thursday, Sep. 5, Alexis Mac Allister started and scored the game-winner for Argentina in a 3-0 thumping of rivals Chile. The win has put the defending World Cup champions four points clear at the top of their WCQ qualifying table.
Friday was also a good night for Liverpool players in South America. Luis Diaz scored in Colombia's 1-1 draw versus Peru, with the Colombian winger starting and going for 90 minutes. Alisson kept a clean sheet in Brazil's 1-0 win over Ecuador, which saw a previously struggling Brazil leapfrog Venezuela and Ecuador in the WCQ table.
