It's Wednesday morning midweek which means we are back once again to take a look at some Liverpool transfer news and headlines going around.

With plenty of stars in action across the globe shining for their national teams the rumor mill has become a flurry of activity with all the big clubs scouting as much talent as they can.

As ever, I have gathered up some of the biggest headlines from around Liverpool transfer news, so let's get this started.

Liverpool make their stance clear on Nico Williams

The 21-year old Spanish winger has been one of the brightest stars at Euro 2024 as he has been electric out wide for the Spain national team.

He has only built on his breakout season with Athletic Bilbao where he recorded a super 19 assists across all competitions.

With Liverpool seemingly in the market for a fresh forward this summer to replenish the attack, a young talent like Williams would seem to be a strong option. His reasonable release clause of £47m means the links were inevitable.

However, per James Pearce, while the Reds admire the player, they are not actively pursuing him at the moment. The player himself also recently signed a new contract so there does not seem to be a lot here.

Liverpool beginning process for possible Arda Guler move

Per Spanish outlet Marca, Liverpool are reportedly in the opening stages for a possible transfer for Real Madrid and Turkey attacking midfielder Arda Guler.

The 19-year old is one of the hottest young prospects in Europe and he struggled for consistent playing time at Real Madrid for most of the season before a late season surge allowed him to showcase his sky-high potential.

While this would definitely be a move for the future, it appears that his current club are not super keen on letting him go as he only just arrived last summer.

While this would be a fun move to see happen, I don't think this one has much legs to it and I expect the young star to stay where he is.

Reds target Riccardo Calafiori shines for Italy

There is no secret that Liverpool are in the market for a defender this summer. One of those targets is rumored to be 22-year old Italian hero Calafiori.

The Bologna man has been linked with a move away from Italy this summer for a very comfortable fee around £25m. In Italy's breathtaking win over Croatia in the Euro's on Monday, Calafiori was one of the best players on the pitch.

He completed 57/61 passes including 3/4 on long balls, had 5 clearances, 2 recoveries, 4 passes into the final third, 3 chances created and of course the game winning assist.

It was a stunning all-round display from the young defender on the biggest stage you could imagine. His slaloming run forward for the winning assist would have peak Joel Matip smiling from ear to ear.

This kind of performance should have Michael Edwards and his staff on the phone as soon as possible to get a deal across the line. He's a truly gifted player already.
