Well, that is not how Arne Slot or anyone with Liverpool would have drawn it up. The Reds suffered a stunning 1-0 defeat to visitors Nottingham Forest who won at Anfield for the first time in 55 years.

We were out of sorts and disjointed throughout the majority of proceedings as things never clicked into gear following the return from the international break.

The side looked disjointed and lacked a cutting edge that we had seen all season up until today. So with that, let's see how the Liverpool players rated in the first defeat under Slot.

Alisson Becker 6/10 - Did not have a lot of work to do in this one and was not at fault whatsoever for the Forest goal. Made a fine save from Elanga to keep slim hopes of a draw alive but to no avail.

Trent Alexander-Arnold 6/10 - This was not the brilliant playmaker we saw performing with England over the break but a lot his passes lacked his normal crispness. Shifted to the midfield and still could not impact the game like we would expect.

Ibrahima Konate 6.5/10 - Ibou was a strong presence in the defense as he battled the Forest attack and he made some solid defensive plays. One of the few on the day that really came to play and locked in.

Virgil van Dijk 6/10 - Just like TAA, his passes lacked conviction and too often they were cutout by the oppostiion or just did not find the mark. Did some decent aerial work throughout but not a masterclass at all.

Andy Robertson 6.5/10 - Robbo was not at his ultimate best in this one but he still put in a solid shift and his trademark work rate was on full display once again. Lacked a killer end product.

Ryan Gravenberch 7/10 - One of the few bright spots on a frustrating afternoon as he continues his fine form this season. Read the game well cutting out passes and getting forward actions started.

Alexis Mac Allister 5.5/10 - He created a good chance for Jota but too often he was overrun in the midfield or he was getting battered by Forest. Not the cleanest outing.

Mohamed Salah 5/10 - This won't help him in his contract negotiatiions as for the first time this season Salah looked lost. He did not impact the match much at all outside of some tame efforts on goal. Tough sell this performance.

Dominik Szoboszlai 5.5/10 - This game reverted back to the invisible Szobo from the end of last season as he did not bring much to the game in any capacity. A few driving runs but nothing credibly dangerous.

Luis Diaz 6.5 /10 - Unlucky not to have scored as he hit the inside of the post. Had that gone in, this match takes on a different outlook for certain. Strong work-rate but could not find a way through.

Diogo Jota 6/10 - Did not have a lot to do in this one as the service around him was almost non-existent. Never got a real clear opportunity to leave his mark on proceedings.

SUBS:

Cody Gakpo 5/10 - He also could not replicate the form he showed for his national team as he e was found wanting on more than one occasion. Did make a threatening run late but was seen too late and never got the ball.

Conor Bradley 4.5/10 - His defending of Hudson-Odoi left something to be desired as he was contantly beat on the turn and off the dribble. Allowed him too much space to cut inside which led to the wonder goal. Poor vision going forward as well which is unusual.

Darwin Nunez - 5/10 - Lots of running per normal and created a half-chance but overall not much to see here.

Kostas Tsimikas - N/A - Brought nothing in the final minutes.

Curtis Jones N/A - Nice to see him playing again at least.
