It was a very comfortable evening at Anfield on Wednesday night as Liverpool strolled to a 2-0 win on Champions League Matchday 2 against Bologna.

Goals from Alexis Mac Allister and Mohamed Salah on each side of halftime were enough to secure the three points for Arne Slot's men on the night. The Reds were deserved winners on the night and continued their fine run to begin the season across all competitions.

Let's see how the Liverpool players rated in the solid victory.

Alisson Becker - 7.5/10 - He made some fine saves throughout as the visitors caught the Reds napping a few times. His brilliance kept the lead intact until we were able to fully take control.

Trent Alexander-Arnold - 6.5/10 - It wasn't the most impressive display of the season by TAA but he was more than serviceable and moved the ball into some threatening areas when given the chance.

Ibrahima Konate - 8/10 - Big Ibou was immense once again as he used his blend of pace and power to shutdown any dangers posed on the break by Bologna. He looks so calm in any situation right now.

Virgil van Dijk - 7.5/10 - It was a steady performance from the Captain as he marshalled the defense expertly once again and cleaned up when things got a bit hairy. His experience is so valuable in these big games.

Andy Robertson - 6.5/10 - Was industrious but lacked a final ball to his game on the day. Solid defensively but largely drifted through the game but was alert when they attacked down his wing.

Alexis Mac Allister - 8/10 - Scored his first career UCL goal and was a box-to-box menace as he was a key dictator of the pace of play for Liverpool. A truly gifted all-around player we have in him.

Ryan Gravenberch 8.5/10 - Was slightly shaky early before settling in and dominating once again. His high-pressing kept Bologna pinned in their area and his willingness to carry the ball forward adds a whole new dimension to the Reds attack from midfield.

Dominik Szoboszlai - 7/10 - Most of the good work he did on the day came from ball winning and retention. Put a good chance just wide early on but worked hard in the midfield to close down any half-chances.

Mohamed Salah - 9/10 - A wonderfully weighted cross for the opener before scoring a worldie himself to the far post in front of the Kop. Truly at the peak of his powers and so influential in so many facets of the attack.

Darwin Nunez - 6.5/10 - Put the ball in the net but was caught offside. Did some good work and was part of the great buildup that led to the first goal.

Luis Diaz - 6/10 - Arguably his least impactful performance of the season but it was largely not needed as Liverpool dominated proceedings. Got caught in possession a few too many times.

SUBS:

Diogo Jota - 6/10 - Came on for Nunez but did not have anymore chances than the Uruguayan did. Moved the ball along for Salah's goal but otherwise not much here.

Kostas Tsimikas - 6/10 - Came on for Robbo to see the game out and was fine.

Cody Gakpo - 6/10 - Much like Jota, came on and there was not much juice left in the attack.

Conor Bradley - N/A - No time to do much of anything.

Curtis Jones - N/A - A dash of minutes at the end.
