Liverpool predicted Starting XI for Premier League meeting with Bournemouth
We are closing in on Liverpool's return to the Premier League following their exciting Champions League exploits during the week.
They welcome Bournemouth to Anfield in a fixture that has typically gone very well for Liverpool in recent times as they have scored some absolute crushing victories.
As we project ahead, there are some players that should probably be dropped due to minimal impacts in their recent outings and other players that should be given a chance to show what they can bring on a consistent basis.
Arne Slot will have his team carrying a lot of momentum and the Forest defeat, while frustrating, was largely expunged by the AC Milan triumph on Tuesday. Whoever starts will see the Reds as favorites.
So, let's see how Liverpool could lineup against Bournemouth on Saturday.
Goalkeeper: Alisson Becker
Defenders: Trent Alexander-Arnold, Ibrahima Konate, Virgil van Dijk, Andy Robertson
Midfielders: Alexis Mac Allister, Ryan Gravenberch, Dominik Szoboszlai
Forwards: Mohamed Salah, Darwin Nunez, Cody Gakpo
Probable Subs: Luis Diaz, Federico Chiesa, Conor Bradley, Curtis Jones, Diogo Jota
I would not be shocked if Konate gets rested for Jarell Quansah in this one, but Ibou has been in such fine form it will be hard to justify keeping him on the bench after having almost a full week of rest. Robertson gets back in the XI following a somewhat surprising exclusion from the trip to Italy.
Trent was back to his influential best at the San Siro and he should be able to carve out several chances for himself and others once again when the Cherries come to town Saturday afternoon.
It's nearly impossible to to bench any of the three midfielders as they have all shown the various qualities they bring to the side.
Gravenberch has entrenched himself as one of the first names on the team sheet each game until further notice with his sterling performances. Mac Allister and Szoboszlai both bring dynamic elements to the game that the other Liverpool midfielders cannot at this time.
Up top, Jota gets dropped after a second consecutive pedestrian performance. He started the season well but has tapered off and it's high-time Nunez got a proper run.
Gakpo retains his place after he was outstanding on Tuesday night and Slot will hope to see him continue at such a high level for the foreseeable future.
Lastly, of course Salah starts because he's Mohamed Salah. Chiesa should get a bit more run off the bench in this one as he continues trying to integrate himself into the side.
Liverpool should be comfortable favorites in this one and how they lineup will show how serious they are taking the fixture.
