A driven Trent Alexander-Arnold ball was diverted by Mo Salah for Diogo Jota to pounce for Liverpool’s first.
Sadio Mane’s shot deflected off Grant Hanley to find Salah, who set-up Roberto Firmino for Liverpool’s second.
Salah’s curling effort late-on gave him the record of being the first Premier League player to score on five successive Premier League opening day games.
Arsenal 3-4 Liverpool (2016)
Theo Walcott was denied from the spot by Simon Mignolet, before Walcott found the net from open play a few moments later.
Philippe Coutinho’s outstanding free-kick from way out restored parity on the stroke of half-time.
Adam Lallana stroked low past Petr Cech to put Liverpool in front. Nathaniel Clyne’s fizzed ball found Coutinho for his second, before Sadio Mane expertly rattled through the Arsenal defence to fire high past Cech.
