As Liverpool puts the finishing touches on an anticlimactic end to the Jurgen Klopp era, the work has already begun for what is expected to be a very busy summer at Anfield.

There will be some players that depart and surely there needs to be some new talents that are brought back in return. I've looked through the rumor mill to pull out the most important ones to know as we hit the midweek.

Khephren Thuram could be had at a bargain price

We start off with a name that was heavily linked with a move to Liverpool last summer before the club moved forward with other options.

Thuram now only has one season left on his Nice contract which could put the French club at a severe disadvantage when it comes to negotiations. The rumored cost ranges between €15-€20 million which could be a great deal.

With Thiago on the outs and Endo in his thirties, another strong presence is required and Thuram could fit that bill perfectly.

This is one that is realistic and the groundwork was already laid last summer.

Teun Koopmeiners could add to the Dutch group at Anfield

Incoming coach Arne Slot already has three countrymen he will be able to call on in the likes of Virgil van Dijk, Cody Gakpo and Ryan Gravenberch.

However, another option to strengthen the middle of the park is a familiar face, Atalanta's Koopmeiners. The Dutch midfielder played a big role in their 3-0 demolition job at Anfield that basically knocked Liverpool out of the Europa League.

The €60-€70 million price tag is substantial, but the 26-year old is in his prime and has worked under Slot before at AZ Alkmaar.

His versatility in the midfield with the ability to move up or drop deep, would make him a most useful asset going forward.

Liverpool goalkeepers making headlines

Alisson Becker is expected to be one of a handful of major Premier League stars targeted by Saudi Pro League clubs this summer as the league tries to continue to bolster its global image.

Ederson is another target for the SPL which means there might be more to this then just conjecture. However, Liverpool are not expected to have any interest in moving their No. 1 so it would take a ridiculous overpay to even get to the table.

Liverpool's No. 3 keeper, Adrian, 37, has stated his desire to return to La Liga and finish out his playing career there.

There is almost no future at Liverpool for him so getting even a small fee for the aging Spaniard would be proper business for the Reds.

Reds have viable interest in Newcastle forward Alexander Isak

It is no secret that Liverpool have had some finishing issues down the stretch of this season that has crushed their hopes of securing any more silverware.

So, being linked to a 24 goal scorer is a natural transition. The Swede has played very well for Newcastle this season scoring some truly wonderful goals.

The Magpies obviously love him and there is an interest from Arsenal so it won't be an easy battle if Liverpool truly want to take part.

A big money fee would likely be needed to get this done.
