Bolo Zenden - 2005

With Liverpool fresh off their Champions League trophy success in Istanbul, the club signed Bolo Zenden on a free transfer from fellow Premier League side Middlesbrough on July 4th, 2005. Zenden had just won the Boro fan's Player of the Season award before departing the North Yorkshire club.

Multiple knee injuries cut Zenden's time at Liverpool short. Still, the Dutch midfielder played a key part in Liverpool's run to the Champions League final in 2007, where they ultimately fell to Milan. In the summer of 2007, Rafa Benitez confirmed that Zenden was free to depart the club, and he signed with Marseille on July 6th, 2007.
