Fabio Aurelio - 2006
In July 2006, Brazilian left-back Fabio Aurelio joined Liverpool on a free transfer from Valencia. With the move, Aurelio linked back up with his former manager, Rafa Benitez, whom he played under at Valencia. An achilles injury prevented Fabio from playing an entire season in his first one with Liverpool, but he made 133 appearances for the Reds, the most for any club for Aurelio.
An interesting fact about Fabio Aurelio's free transfer to Liverpool is that he was the first Brazilian to play for the club. Aurelio won the League Cup in 2012 and FA Community Shield in 2006. His achilles injury prevented him from playing in the latter stages of the 2007 Champions League, which was a massive blow for Liverpool.
