3. Fernando Torres - £50 million
Once Liverpool's most expensive signing, Fernando Torres is one of the club's most expensive departures, landing as the third most expensive after he moved to Chelsea in 2011.
As much as it hurt to see El Nino depart the club for a fellow Premier League side, the Spanish striker will have no regrets looking back on the move. He went on to win the Champions League in 2012 with Chelsea, including scoring the winner on aggregate in the semi-finals against Barcelona.
Fernando scored 81 goals at Liverpool, including 18 in 22 Premier League games during the 2009-10 season. Now retired, Torres manages the Atletico Madrid U19s.
