4. Raheem Sterling - £49 million

Sterling made massive waves when he refused to sign a new contract with Liverpool, prompting the club to sell him to Manchester City in 2015 for £49 million.

Raheem made an academy switch to Liverpool from Queens Park Rangers in 2010, arriving as a top youngster with the potential to be special. Impressing under Brendan Rodgers, Sterling quickly made himself one of the most promising young wingers in the Premier League. After Liverpool finished sixth in the Premier League in the 2014-15 season, Sterling looked to head to greener pastures, landing at Manchester City.

To some degree, Liverpool has gotten the last laugh. Despite winning four Premier League titles, Sterling has yet to win the Champions League trophy. He also missed out on winning the UCL with City as he now resides with Chelsea.
