The 5 most expensive Liverpool departures of all-time
By Evan Curnew
5. Fabinho - £40 million
Fabinho's departure to Al-Ittihad was likely the correct time for Liverpool to part ways with the veteran midfielder, but it was still difficult to see him leave nonetheless. The Brazilian had been such an important anchor in Klopp's midfield during the height of Liverpool's success this past decade.
Along with many star players from Europe, Fabinho also made the trek to Saudi Arabia in the summer of 2023, linking up with Al-Ittihad with the likes of Karim Benzema and N'Golo Kante. Liverpool has yet to adequately replace Fabinho, with multiple natural midfielders being pushed back a bit further in some matches and signing veteran Wataru Endo, who likely doesn't have a long-term future at the club.
Any surprises Liverpool fans? Will this list change in the next few years?
