2. Joshua Kimmich - Bayern Munich
Perhaps not an area Liverpool are desperate to add in, Joshua Kimmich of Bayern Munich could be a defensive midfielder option for the club. The German midfielder has just one year left on his contract at Bayern and at the moment Kimmich is not close to signing an extension with the German giants.
Sky Germany's Florian Plettenberg reports that Bayern is prepared to sell Joshua Kimmich this summer. Liverpool is described as one of five clubs that Kimmich would be open to joining this summer if Bayern does sell. Kimmich has played every minute for Germany at Euro 2024, including grabbing an assist in the win over Scotland.
Kimmich reverted to his original position as a right-back late in the season for Bayern Munich under Thomas Tuchel after being fully converted to a midfielder a couple of seasons ago. With the German capable of playing both positions, should he theoretically sign for Liverpool, he would be able to allow Trent Alexander-Arnold to move higher up the pitch in a more attacking role.
