Much like Luis Diaz, Ryan Gravenberch did not have a majority of supporters backing him after last season, but so far, under fellow Dutchman Arne Slot, Gravenberch has looked undroppable.

Sitting at the base of the midfield, Ryan Gravenberch has become a vital piece of the Liverpool midfield. The 22-year-old's ability to heavily involve himself in the quick build-up play while making himself a defensive rock has elevated his importance in the squad to another level.

Being so involved in all facets of the game, Gravenberch's stamina has to be applauded, and it is being noticed by his manager as well, who was happy to give praise to the midfielder post-victory.

"[Gravenberch] can be a really important player for our build-up game, but what impressed me most when I started working with him [was] how much he can run and then still how good he is when he arrives in the duel."

Gravenberch's switch to the No. 6 role has made it much easier to accept that Liverpool did not bring in a new defensive midfielder this summer despite it being widely reported as a priority.
