2. Strong track record of developing players
Another major point for Fenway Sports Group wanting to hire Arne Slot was that with Feyenoord he has typically worked on a tight budget, with the Dutch club only buying players when they have sold players. Working in this sustainable system and "overachieving" was one of the big reasons why Liverpool thought Slot was a perfect fit, per the Independent.
Players such as David Hancko, Orkun Kokcu, Teun Koopmeiners, Mats Wieffer, and Santiago Gimenez are just some of the players who have seen massive rises in their value after being managed by Arne Slot. Some of the players mentioned have moved on to other clubs for big fees.
Slot will have a lot more money to work with at Liverpool than he did in Rotterdam with Feyenoord, but the Reds ultimately don't have the spending power like the Manchester clubs and Chelsea. It sounds like Slot will primarily work with the squad he inherits, although the club could make two to three signings this summer.
