Liverpool's last test before the beginning of the season will come against Sevilla.

Sunday, August 11th, will see Liverpool play Sevilla in what will be Arne Slot's first match at Anfield, albeit unofficial. It will also be the Reds' last match before the Premier League season starts, with Liverpool facing recently-promoted Ipswich Town on August 17th. At the same time as Liverpool vs Sevilla, the rest of the players who do not feature will face Las Palmas.

So, what are three storylines to watch for Liverpool against Sevilla?

Three storylines to watch out for in Liverpool's final friendly against Sevilla

1. Will the starting XI for Ipswich Town start against Sevilla?

It is fairly common that a club's starting lineup from its last friendly is what they ultimately start in their first competitive match of the season. Transfers and injuries can, of course, change starting XI's at the last minute, but with just six days between this friendly and the Premier League opener, Slot will want to be close to identifying his best starting XI.

The rest of the internationals returned to training at Kirkby shortly after Liverpool's last game in the United States. If some of those internationals who have had just over a week of training are not ready for full game speed, it may not be out of the question for them to get minutes in the behind-closed-doors friendly versus Las Palmas.

The starting XI is very up in the air, to say the least, as we could see something similar to what could start against Ipswich, or a lot of late returners may not feature against Sevilla.
