England National Team - Trent-Alexander Arnold

Multiple Liverpool players are in contention to be called up by Gareth Southgate for Euro 2024, but Trent is the only lock to make the team. Always a threat on set pieces and possessing an elite ability to get forward both as a midfielder and fullback, Alexander-Arnold could be a starter for the Three Lions this summer.

Trent was called up in the most recent FIFA International window with England as he was out injured. To date, he has 23 caps for England, and this will be his first Euros as he missed Euro 2020 with an injury. Liverpool fans will remember that Trent played just 33 minutes for Southgate at the World Cup in Qatar, which was on the list of a lot of bizarre coaching decisions that tournament.

England National Team - Harvey Elliott

Depending on who you ask, Harvey Elliott could be a darkhorse for a Euro 2024 spot with England, but he's not even on the radar for others. The English midfielder has been earning more starts in the Premier League down the stretch for Liverpool, and he also regularly started in the Europa League this season.

His performances have varied this season, but most would say he's become a blooming young star for the club. Unfortunately for Elliott, he's yet to fully be on Southgate's radar, with no call-ups to date, as he has still been playing for the U21s. He has an outside shot, but it feels unlikely Harvey will be on the plane to Germany.

England National Team - Joe Gomez

Joe Gomez is not a lock for Euro 2024, but he is a predicted defender for plenty of people. Gomez has become a versatile option for Jurgen Klopp, playing all across the backline this season for Liverpool. Gomez has not been the locked-in starter he was once for the club, but he still started nearly half the league games he was available for and regularly started in Europe and cup competitions.

Given his versatility, Gomez could be an intriguing option for Southgate this summer. After a long spell of not being called up for the Three Lions, Gomez featured for England in their most recent window in March 2024. He came on as a left-back against Brazil and played as a centre-back versus Belgium, subbing in for an injured John Stones.
