Which Liverpool players could be heading to Euro 2024 this summer?
By Evan Curnew
Euro 2024 will occur in Germany, with 24 national teams looking to lift international silverware this summer. To no one's surprise, multiple Liverpool players will be at the tournament, but who exactly?
Group A
Scotland National Team - Andy Robertson
A significant shoulder injury kept Robertson out for a decent chunk of the season, but going into the summer, he's (somewhat) healthy and in form. Scotland's captain is the first name on the list for his national team, and he will need to be on his A-game if Scotland wants to get out of their group.
Robertson returned from injury and played in Scotland's most recent International fixtures against the Netherlands and Northern Ireland. He received his shoulder injury during international duty in October 2023, when Scotland played Spain in the Euro 2024 qualifiers.
Hungary National Team - Dominik Szoboszlai
While Szoboszlai may not have had the debut season he wanted or Liverpool wanted, he is undoubtedly a talented player that Hungary will look to rely on at Euro 2024. Even at just 23 years old, he is the captain of his national team and has been since 2022.
Making his debut for his country in 2019, Szoboszlai now has 40 caps at the senior level, with 12 goals and five assists in that time frame. Unfortunately, Dominik missed out on the previous Euros in 2021 (for Euro 2020) with injury, as Hungary finished at the bottom of their group in the tournament.
Dominik helped Hungary qualify for Euro 2024, as they placed first in their group, ahead of Serbia, gaining qualification for the tournament. The Liverpool midfielder's group contains Spain, Scotland and Switzerland, a tough group but not a David vs. Goliath situation either for Hungary.
