A potential missing piece to the puzzle for Arne Slot and Liverpool this season could be some more quality depth at Centre Back.

With Ibrahima Konate and Virgil van Dijk seemingly settled in for the long haul this season and Jarell Quansah providing competition, it seems as though another quality addition to the centre back room will be targeted.

If the reports are to be believed Liverpool will be potentially saying goodbye to fan-favorite and goalless Joe Gomez and looking to replace him.

Using previous links, here are three options Liverpool may look to in the final week of the transfer window. One realistic option, a dream target and one unorthadox player.

Realistic – Castello Lukeba

A rumored target for the Reds over the summer and a road Liverpool have been down before. Potentially coming over from RB Leipzig, a club that has produced some successful Liverpool players, Naby Keita, Ibrahima Konate and Dominik Szoboszlai.

More importantly for this deal, a club LFC have an extremely good working relationship with.

Lukeba is a left-footed centre-half, a luxury Liverpool have not had since the days of Ragnar Klavan. A left footed player at the back can massively help with the way Arne Slot likes to build up and for this reason was the excuse Klopp had for not needing a left footed centre back, his play style wasn’t overly concerned by the build up from the back.

Currently playing in a similar system to Slot’s at Liverpool under Marco Rose at Leipzig, Lukeba would not need much time to get used to the style at LFC.

He may not need much time to adapt to a new culture either, even at 21. Having already moved away from his home nation of France, to Germany and having a good season at Leipzig. His adjustment may be quicker than expected.
