We have finally reached the end of the first international break of the season and Liverpool players around the world were able to avoid major injury scares before returning to England.

Liverpool will look to maintain their perfect start in the league when they travel to Turf Moor on Sunday to take on Burnley who are currently planted in 14th with 1 win against 2 defeats.

This is not always a straightforward fixture for the Reds but they should be expected to come through this one. Record signing Alexander Isak is training with the first team and is in contention to make an appearance.

Jeremie Frimpong has also returned to training after he was out with a hamstring issue. Let's take a look at how Arne Slot could lineup his squad on Sunday against Burnley.

Goalkeeper: Alisson Becker

Defenders: Jeremie Frimpong, Ibrahim Konate, Virgil van Dijk, Milos Kerkez

Midfielders: Ryan Gravenberch, Dominik Szoboszlai, Florian Wirtz

Forwards: Mohamed Salah, Hugo Ekitike. Cody Gakpo

Possible Subs: Alexander Isak, Alexis Mac Allister, Curtis Jones, Joe Gomez, Wataru Endo, Rio Ngumoha

Alisson is a given as always in goal whenever he is an option for selection. Defensively gets a bit interesting as Frimpong did return to training on Thursday, but it might be too soon to see him start.

However, even if he does start, he should only be on the pitch for 50-60 minutes before I see Szoboszlai being shifted to fullback to see the match out.

I have the Hungarian starting over Mac Allister because he is the form player right now for Liverpool whereas Macca has been fine, but not his best just yet. Wirtz is a near automatic start when he is fit, barring a drastic downturn in form or results.

Gravenberch will be key to shutting down the few Burnley counterattacks we will see on Sunday and his composure on the ball should help deflate the home atmosphere on occasion as well.

Isak is not yet ready to start, but I do expect the Swede to have a cameo in this match. The front three of Gakpo-Ekitike-Salah has been plenty strong to begin the season and they should be able to score multiple goals in this one.

Being able to bring the likes of Mac Allister, Isak and Jones of the bench is a huge boost for Slot in his squad depth. That's to say nothing of the brilliant Rio Ngumoha as well who can be an option.
