Liverpool return to Champions League action as they host Lille in the penultimate match week of the group stage.
The Reds are flying high and only need four points from the final two games to guarantee top spot in this first instalment of the new format. Let's preview the match with the the French outfit.
The campaign so far
Liverpool are a perfect six from six in Europe this year, including big wins over Bayer Leverkusen, AC Milan and Real Madrid.
Whilst goals have always flown for Arne Slot's men, it's been the defensive record that has really impressed in this competition.
Liverpool have just the one solitary blot on their record, an early Christian Pulisic goal in Italy. Since then they've been perfect, largely thanks to the dominant pairing of Virgil van Dijk and Ibrahima Konate.
Lille have been one of the surprise packages of the campaign, sitting in the final automatic qualification spot before this week's fixtures.
Despite starting with a poor defeat to Sporting, wins over both Madrid clubs have propelled them to the brink of the next round.
The French side host Arne Slot's former employers Feyenoord at home on match week eight, so will know a positive result at Anfield will have them firmly in the driving seat.
The Form
Liverpool got over their minor dip in form elsewhere, with a huge win away at Brentford on Saturday. One win in their last four in all competitions proceeded that win, and Liverpool fans will be hoping their form is back on the right track.
Despite the recent run, Liverpool remain firmly top of both the Premier League and Champions League and still fighting on all four fronts this season.
Lille are also in good form domestically and are actually unbeaten since that defeat to Sporting back in September.
They are also coming into this one on the back of a win, coming from behind to beat Nice at the weekend.
They're also going well in the French Cup, with two wins this month taking them into the last eight. They will also be delighted to have ended a run of three straight league draws with that win over Nice.
The ones to watch
Liverpool have an abundance of talented players in form, but the team selection is anybody's guess at this stage. Slot may be expected to give some players a rest as the hectic schedule continues.
Darwin Nunez may have resurrected his Anfield career with those two massive goals at the weekend and with Jota likely to be out once more, he could be the one to lead the line for the next few weeks.
Jonathan David is the main man for the French outfit and is their top scorer in the League and the Champions League this season.
The Canadian already has eleven league goals this seasons to go with his six in this competition.
Lille also have a good crop of young talent including twenty-one year old Hakon Haraldsoon, who has scored in his last two games. Seventeen-year old Ayyoub Bouaddi has also been impressing of late, earning several starts this season.
