As we wrap up the 2024/25 season, the summer transfer window is already rolling along with rumors and moves being completed left and right. Every club has visions of their team signing a superstar to take them to the next level.
However, as is often the case in transfer dealings, it's the oft forgotten or ignored deals that could make the biggest impacts on a club being successful or not.
We all know the top talents and the big fees needed to acquire them. However, it takes a proper scouting department to dive in and find the hidden gems that have been overlooked for one reason or another.
It is these times that can make or break if a transfer window is deemed a hit or miss. With that in mind, I took a step back to rank the five best value signings that Liverpool have completed in their history.
Honorable Mentions: Daniel Agger, Luis Garcia, , Lucas Leiva, Stephane Henchoz
5. Pepe Reina - £6 million
It's fitting that Reina makes this list on the cusp of him playing his final professional match this weekend at 42 years-old.
The Spaniard arrived on Merseyside in 2005 as he was identified by Rafael Benitez to be a key piece of the future. He had made a name for himself in Spain playing for Villareal and helping them punch above their weight.

He wasted little time cementing his legendary status when he saved 3 penalties in the 2006 FA Cup final shootout spurring Liverpool onto the title.
Reina had 50 clean sheets in his first 92 league matches in goal for the Reds, the fastest to ever hit that number.
He was a rock at the back during some shaky times and during the highest of times. The arrival of Simon Mignolet in 2013 marked the end his run at Anfield. Reina made 394 appearances while recording 177 clean sheets in all competitions for Liverpool.
It wasn't until Alisson Becker arrived that the Reds had consistency back in goal.
