It has been a nonstop party for Liverpool since they secured the 2024/25 Premier League title with a month to spare.
The results since that time have been patchy at best, with no wins secured. Yet, the singing and dancing after the Reds succumbed to a 3-2 defeat at Brighton indicates most people are not bothered by this at all. Perhaps they should be.
I want to begin this by saying I fully understand the mindset of taking the foot off the gas and savoring the moment.
However, at some point, you would want the newly crowned Champions to put on at least one top-class performance over the final four matches of the season.
The Liverpool Standard is always the Standard
At the risk of sounding like a grouch, I personally have not enjoyed these last few weeks during the 90 minutes of action.
Disjointed lineups, checked out players and a coach that seems content with running out the string of the season has led to some nice moments followed by frustrating periods of action.

Liverpool were never really in the game against Chelsea and a late goal from Virgil van Dijk was dressing on a stinker of a day.
A 2-0 lead against Arsenal was thrown away after a dismal second half at Anfield. Monday's performance against Brighton in the second half again left much to be desired and the energy and drive were lacking.
Whenever Liverpool steps on the pitch for a game of football the expectation should be victory.
Again, I'm not expecting the squad to be going full tilt. I grasp that is too much, but a little more professionalism would be welcome.
Fringe players not taking the opportunity
The biggest culprit of this L-D-L run have been the players we have not seen a lot of this season who finally have a chance to make an impression.
Jarell Quansah, Harvey Elliott, Federico Chiesa, Wataru Endo and Diogo Jota are some of the players that have not truly taken this chance with both hands.
Yes, Elliott got a goal against Brighton but was largely invisible thereafter. He has spoken like a player that might be alright departing this summer.

If Arne Slot wanted to see what he had to work with beyond his core rotation, he's learning it might not be as comfortable as he thought. Reinforcements might be needed purely for depth to compete on all fronts next season.
I was so desperate for Chiesa to shine after starting against the Seagulls, but alas, he was a major non-factor in the match and probably missed his window to prove his worth.
End on a high
The season finale will see Crystal Palace, fresh off their monumental FA Cup triumph over Man City, come flying into Anfield.
Both clubs are in dreamland right now and admittedly, the product on the pitch might suffer as a result. What if Liverpool can bring it together one final time?
I don't want a Premier League title winning season to end with three defeats and a draw. That is no way for a Champion to enter the summer.
Slot needs his charges to put one final stamp on this campaign and secure the win on Sunday. Let's score some goals, play with some extra gumption and put in a proper shift, one last time. Then we can party for the next three months.
While it is clear the title hangover is a very real thing, and we are still in the honeymoon phase here, some reputation and momentum could be restored with a win over Palace.
I am so happy we wrapped up a 20th league title, but ending the season like we have will only put a weird asterisk on; "What happened to the league winners down the stretch?", that will need to be defended in the future.
Give us one more vintage Liverpool showing, score some goals and give everyone, and yourselves a proper sendoff.
