Florian Wirtz - Germany

Despite falling to Ecuador in their final group stage game, the Germans were still able to secure top spot in Group E via a head-to-head tiebreaker with the Ivory Coast.

Wirtz recorded an assist in the opening match of the tournament and in the defeat to the Ecuadorians.

He has been one of the creative leaders for the national team as he's created eight chances across the group stage to go along with getting off eight shots of his own. In Germany's win over the Ivory Coast and potential future Red Yan Diomande, it was Wirtz who was one of the leading men as he had a Creativity Impact score of 7.0 in the match.

He has done a lot of his work from the left side of the attack, but he has been able to drift and roam to find little pockets where he can pick out players with his world class passing range.

I have mentioned before I think that the underlying numbers showed Wirtz was playing well for Liverpool for large of portions of the season, but it was the end product that was missing.

Now at the World Cup and playing a pivotal role in the attack for one of the tournament favorites, Liverpool and new coach Iraola will be eagerly watching to see if he can carry this momentum forward.
