These 5 Liverpool players could all be candidates to depart the club this summer

It's going to be a summer of change at Anfield, with several high-profile exits appearing to be on the docket, but who it will it be?

Luis Diaz

In contrast to Nunez, Diaz made a blistering start to his Liverpool career. Purchased in the January transfer window of 2022, Liverpool pinched Diaz from under the noses of Tottenham Hotspurs from Porto.

Diaz made an instant impact with his direct style. He took the game to the opposition taking on full backs with his dribbling skills.

He made a positive start to this season also, putting up some impressive numbers and was given Man of the Match in the early game against Manchester United.

While his work-rate is clear to see. It doesn’t translate into contributions. Diaz does not affect matches in terms of numbers.

Both goals scored and assisted are quite low for a player in his position. When it comes to decision making in the final third of the pitch Diaz is rather lacking. This can be an issue in tight games when chances are a premium.

One area of the FSG’s Moneyball Transfer policy that hasn’t been implemented effectively is selling players at the optimum time.

Diaz at the age of 27, would be an optimum time to sell the player and get the best possible transfer fee for him. Diaz is also attracting interest from the Saudi league where a team would be prepared to pay a premium for him.

There is a case to be heard for Diaz to stay at Liverpool. As we saw against Fulham on Sunday he came on and scored a goal.

He was able to do this by operating centrally rather than on the usual left side. Earlier in the season Diaz played a few games as a central forward and the team cohesion looked much better.
