As we march into another weekend of FA Cup action, the transfer rumors are heating up all around the world and Liverpool are no different.

The Reds are being linked to a host of players all over the continent while it is also expected for them to secure the immediate future of one of their soon-to-be out of contract stars on fresh terms.

I'm here to round up some of the biggest rumors and headlines so you can sift through and make your own decisions on each one, so without anymore adieu, let's get into it.

Van Dijk reportedly inching towards new deal

There is a growing sentiment out of multiple sources in Holland, most notably the Telegraaf, that the Liverpool and Netherlands national team captain is soon to sign a new Reds contract.

The expectation is that it will be a 2-year deal which is something that I have been pushing for since he entered the final year of his contract. While the reported financial terms have not been discussed, I would actually expect only a modest raise, as his age profile might not lend itself to a huge pay rise.

However, despite the reports coming out of his homeland, there has been no word coming from the club back in England.

While I do fully expect Liverpool and van Dijk to come to an agreement on a new deal, it might not be as imminent as these reports would suggest. I think it gets done, but there are still some things to iron out before pen meets paper.

Harvey Elliott's lack of game-time draws interest from home and abroad

In one of the more surprising evolutions of the season so far might be the apparent freezing out of Harvey Elliott from the Liverpool first team is underway.

Since returning from his broken foot that he suffered while away on England u21 duty, Arne Slot has opted to mostly keep him in a reserve role and in very limited minutes when he does come on.

This new development has perked the attention of Premier League side Brighton, who actually might be a great fit for the lad. They love developing young talented players in their progressive system and it would be easy to picture Harvey doing damage in blue and white.

However, it's not only clubs close to home that have an eye on how things are going as Borussia Dortmund are also reportedly interested if a move were to become a viable option.

Like Brighton, the German outfit are renowned for their work with young players and they could be in need of a new creative presence. His current value sits at €35 million but I don't see him moving on.

Chiesa and Kvaratskhelia names popping up a lot

Federico Chiesa has barely featured for Liverpool since making his £13 million move from Juventus to Anfield this past summer. A lack of a preseason in combination with yet more injuries has meant the club has rarely seen him suit up, let alone take the pitch.

So, it's only natural of course that during the transfer window rumors of his imminent departure would be rife everywhere you look. There have been talks of a loan deal to either Napoli or AC Milan.

In that same vein, the Reds keep having their name mentioned as admirers of the £80 million rated winger Khvicha Kvaratskhelia. PSG are the clear frontrunners here, but as reported by several outlets including Anfield Watch, Liverpool are waiting in the wings if an opportunity were to arise.

There are talks that if the Georgian star moves to France, Napoli would turn their focus on bringing Chiesa to Naples via loan or a permanent deal.

It's very unlikely that we splash the cash and steal Kvaratskhelia, but a loan away for Chiesa seems about 25-35% possible.

Liverpool have a loaded fixture list and will need all hands ready at any moment. Follow this thread, but not intensely.
