At this point, the process of trying to go about replacing Trent Alexander-Arnold is well and truly underway. It's a huge undertaking, but the club might have their eyes set on a starlet in Germany who appears ready to make such a move.
Bayer Leverkusen have seen their fortunes change for the better under the management of Xabi Alonso in the last few years. Players have elevated their games, not unlike what Arne Slot has accomplished at Anfield.
However, with Alonso getting set to likely take the reins at Real Madrid, some of Leverkusen's star players could be about to make an exit of their own. In step Dutch international Jeremie Frimpong.
Reports are gaining steam that Liverpool have honed in on Frimpong and his €35 million release clause is more than manageable for the newly minted Premier League champions.
If things do proceed, what could he bring to England?
Attacking Dynamism from defense
We all know Alexander-Arnold made his living on the ball in the attacking third. While he could defend when needed, his real best work came creating goals for the club.
It should not be a surprise that Slot and Richard Hughes are targeting another attack-minded fullback to man the right side.

Over the last 3 Bundesliga seasons, the current one being the third, Frimpong has recorded 21 goals and 19 assists. He is a key player for Leverkusen and is one of their more explosive and dynamic talents when moving forward.
He brings an electric pace that Trent never could, even if he lacks the former's prowess in the passing department.
Frimpong will have no qualms bombing forward making overlapping runs with Mohamed Salah to absolutely torment defenses all over the map.
High-end experience to push Conor Bradley
Jeremie Frimpong has made 42 combined appearances in the Champions League and Europa League during his Bayer Leverkusen tenure.
In addition he has played 132 times in the German Bundesliga as a key player. He made his Netherlands national team debut in late 2023 and already has racked up 12 caps to his name.

Like Bradley, who has already captained his country, Frimpong is still an ascending talent on the international scene and this kind of move could help him kick-on to a new level.
I wrote recently about Conor Bradley having more than enough ability to take on the big hole that is right-back right now. However, at a club like Liverpool, two elite options are the minimum at every position and these two together would surely push each other to be great.
A Frimpong-Bradley duo would lock down right-back for Liverpool for the next 5-7 years.
Conclusion
Jeremie Frimpong is one of the most exciting wing-backs in the sport today. He has explosive pace and agility which helps him excel in 1-v-1 situations.
He has quick and fancy footwork to get out of tight situations and while he may not be TAA crossing the ball, his assist numbers prove he can put the ball in dangerous areas for others.
His player makeup means he would very much suit the Slot system and his Dutch connection with the likes of Virgil van Dijk, Cody Gakpo and Ryan Gravenberch, in addition to Slot, should mean he would have no problems getting sorted at the club after such a big career move.
At the cost being talked about right now, this would be another Alexis Mac Allister-esque bargain for Liverpool and is something they need to look seriously at taking advantage of.
Frimpong could be a player that fills the Trent role right away while continuing the club's ascendancy at the moment.
