The Team of the Season award is fast approaching and we are ranking the Liverpool Starting XI's chances of making that fabled end of season team.

We will list their potential rivals and who we think will scoop the position.

Goalkeeper - Alisson Becker

Alisson has had another outstanding season with nine clean sheets and counting. The Brazilian has a string of fine performances, including clean sheets over Man City and Newcastle.

The super stopper has only played 26 of the 36 games however and looks likely to miss out on the shortlist because of that.

Likelihood - 3/10 / Contenders - Kepa, Raya, Sels / Our winner - Mats Sels (Forest)

Right Back - Trent Alexander-Arnold

Trent Alexander-Arnold's Liverpool career may be ending on a rather sour note but he has had an excellent season and will be leaving the club with his second Premier League title.

The master assister has notched another six this season, coupled with a few crucial goals.

Trent has had wobbly sections of the season which could cost him, but he is certainly a contender for yet another place in the team.

Likelihood - 6/10 / Contenders - Munoz, Timber, Livramento / Our winner - Munoz (Palace)

Centre back - Virgil van Dijk

Virgil van Dijk is an absolute lock for the Team of the Year once more as the skipper has steered his ship to his second Premier League title.

The Dutchman has played every game this season and has a wealth of solid defensive performances, as well as some big headed goals.

The captain will no doubt be adding another accolade at the end of another brilliant season.

Likelihood - 10/10 / Contenders - Gabriel, Saliba, Murillo / Our winner - Virgil van Dijk

Centre back - Ibrahima Konate

Konate has more than played his part in the league winners title, with a real breakthrough season. The Frenchman has built a superb relationship with van Dijk and all Liverpool fans will be hoping his long term future will be secured this summer.

The big defender will always live slightly in the shadow of such a formidable captain and that will sadly always count against him.

Likelihood - 4/10 / Contenders - Milenkovic, Schar, Huijsen / Our winner - Nikola Milenkovic (Forest)

Left back - Andy Robertson

Andy Robertson is another man to earn his second Premier League Title and cement his place as one of the best bargains in Premier League history.

The Scot hasn't been as ever-present as previous seasons but has remained a big figure in the season.

Robertson has had to share playing time much more this season and only notched his first assist in the recent draw with Arsenal, sadly he won't be earning another Team of the Season trophy.

Likelihood - 1/10 / Contenders - Kerkez, Cucarella, Robinson / Our winner - Milos Kerkez (Bournemouth)
