2. Isak would ease the burden on Salah
It’s impossible to capture the extent of Salah’s importance to Liverpool in words, so I’ll turn to the numbers for this one.
In 301 Premier League appearances, the Egyptian has scored 186 goals and provided 87 assists. In five of his eight seasons at Anfield, he surpassed the 20 goal mark.
In six of them, he reached double figures for both goals and assists. His remarkable tally of 29 goals and 18 assists set a record for most goal contributions in a 38 game Premier League season and delivered the latest and perhaps most emphatic reminder yet that his age is doing nothing to stunt his production up top.

However, not even he, Liverpool’s most prolific scorer of the 21st century, can do it all on his own. Nor will he manage to hold off the inevitable decline that comes with his age. While at even age 32,
Salah’s production up top remains higher than that of any other player in the league, Liverpool cannot expect to remain as reliant on the Egyptian’s magic up top for the next several seasons as they have previously and are currently.
As was the case against PSG, the Reds have lacked alternative sources of inspiration when opponents have managed to lock Salah out. A forward of Isak’s quality would almost certainly remedy this problem.
It’s also worth remembering that Salah will depart in the middle of the campaign to represent Egypt in the African Cup of Nations.
In previous seasons, Salah’s output and all around sharpness declined significantly after he returned from the tournament, ultimately to Liverpool’s detriment.
The addition of Isak to their squad and the goals he would presumably deliver would position the Reds well to cope with any post-AFCON dip in Salah's performances.
