30. Luis Alberto/£6.5m/Sevilla/June 2013

Luis “one for the future” Alberto.

Alberto started two games for Liverpool Football Club. TWO GAMES! What was the point? I don’t understand. Signed for £6.5million surely he deserved more of a chance than two games. Those pair of matches were against Notts County and Oldham Athletic.

In one of the ten matches he entered as a substitute he set up Luis Suarez with an assist against Spurs. That’s the only memory I’ve clung to that reminds me he really did play for Liverpool. Other than that, I genuinely cannot conceive one other play in my head.

The Spaniard was pried away from Sevilla after impressing for Barcelona B and, at the time of his signing to Liverpool, he was really thought as Luis “one for the future” Alberto. £6.5million isn’t a huge fee, but still. TWO GAMES STARTED!!!!!
