Eight players that Liverpool need to start against Tottenham
By Tom Bogert
Daniel Sturridge
This is an easy one. Just look at pictures like that above.
Liverpool’s attacking problem is a good one to have, though Sturridge is unafraid to wear his emotions on his sleeve. It doesn’t take a body linguist to decipher when he’s upset.
It’s not the worst thing in the world that a striker is less than pleased to be left out of the team so often. At least he’s not celebrating it, I don’t much see the problem. It’s not like it’s hurting the team that he’d rather be playing.
It’ll be interesting to watch, though. What if Sturridge doesn’t pick up his form and force his way into the team more regularly by January or the summer? It wouldn’t be out of the question for him to ponder a move away from the club and it’d be understandable.
That’s what was slightly annoying that Sturridge was left on the bench in the second half against West Brom. When Liverpool were cruising up 2-0 and dominating, that would’ve been a brilliant time to give the striker 30 minutes to hopefully get a goal and get himself rolling.
Maybe he would’ve scored one of the many chances the team created and wouldn’t have allowed West Brom back in the match. Plus it would’ve had Liverpool first in the league on goal difference.
