Liverpool sit tied atop the summit for the Premier League, but a lot of guys haven’t gotten chances. These eight players need to start in the League Cup.

What a glorious weekend it was for Liverpool.

They took care of business against a stubborn West Brom, despite it being dodgy at the end. Prior to their kickoff, all of Arsenal, Everton and Tottenham dropped points. The following day, both Manchester City and United dropped points.

Thanks to Pep Guardiola’s first five game winless streak since 2009, Liverpool are tied atop the Premier League table with Arsenal and City.

What a time to be alive. Let’s start dreaming. But before playing Crystal Palace on the weekend, Liverpool have a League Cup tie against Tottenham.

Jurgen Klopp has decisions to make for his team. During this European-less season, does he stick with generally the same first team and really look to make another League Cup run? But what bout the fringe players who haven’t had a chance in the league due to the scarcity of matches this term?

I tend to sympathize with the fringe players. These eight players must start, or at the very least get hefty minutes off the bench, against Tottenham in the League Cup Tuesday.
